Glass - Jennifer Popp

As a young person, Jennifer always admired fine workmanship, whether it was finely made furniture or the hand-cut pieces of a stained glass panel. When the opportunity arose for Jennifer to learn the craft of cutting glass and making her own art, she immersed herself into it; firstly studying the copper foil technique and then further on, into the leaded method used in traditional windows.

Jen always says "The more pieces, the better", thriving on the intricate cuts, and fine detail, that the right piece of glass can give you. Her passion for form and colour are reflected in the dramatic use of lines and in the selection of only the finest art glass.  From the initial drawing to the final polishing, her work is assured to be of the highest quality. Each of her lantern designs are original and made by someone who has a deep respect for the natural world and organic forms.

Homage To A Tree

Jennifer has done several large scale windows, one of which was featured in Stained Glass News (Feb. 2008).

"Allow the light to shine, while providing a piece of art." is how she would describe her lanterns. Made from earthen materials, the glass and agate complement each other to create a feeling of solace and peace. The lamps are inspired by nature and are to be enjoyed for decades to come.

Jennifer's next projects will continue to show her deep dedication to a centuries old craft and her willingness to perfect the techniques that make her a true artisan.
