When looking at Naydene’s paintings one becomes aware that they are dominated by both a sense of stillness and a sense of movement. Her work is strongly influenced by nature, animals, doorways and more recently her children.

The surfaces of Naydene’s images are awash with texture and color. Her signature medium is encaustic which gives a distinct style to her paintings.

The Canadian born artist is an honors graduate from the Ontario College of Art and Design. She spent a year of her studies in Florence, Italy, which has influenced her style and technique and continues to be an inspiration for her expressions of doorways.

The Caribbean effect on her work is a constant through color and subject matter. After spending several years on the island of Aruba, she now resides with her husband and 2 children on the island of Antigua.
