mashu
mashu translates from the Hebrew expression,
‘WOW - that’s really something!'
Laura’s
weakness for beautiful jewelry and shells
began as a child, when she decided to make a
necklace from discarded escargot shells from
a restaurant. The lingering garlic smell
kept more than vampires away. Laura started
a hand-painted children’s wicker furniture
business, selling to stores and clients
across Canada and in the U.S.
For 22 years she was a performing arts
publicist and a freelance writer for
Canadian House & Home and Style At Home,
specializing in design and lifestyle. Laura
always made scouting detours on her travels
to Paris, Provence, the artist colony of San
Miguel d’Allende, Mexico, California and
Israel to collect jewelry pieces.
