Andrew
Collett is a professional landscape
photographer and fine art printmaker who
lives in Bracebridge, Ontario. Andrew
creates his photographs using both a
traditional large format 4x5-view camera and
a sophisticated digital SLR camera.
Collett’s
photography is an investigation of nature at
it’s natural best. “I look for scenes that
contain strong elements of design, and then
strive to capture them when there is an
element of drama unfolding…this could be
dramatic lighting or perhaps mist and fog… I
also pay close attention to weather
patterns,” he says, “ as some of my best
shots have been taken just before or after a
storm.”

Andrew's
careful attention to detail, while
controlling every step of the developing and
printing process guarantees his clients
receive a photographic work of art
representative of his finest effort.
Primarily
self-taught, Collett spent many summers at a
canoe camp on Georgian Bay as a boy. He says
he developed his investigative side plying
the area’s lakes and rivers. “I believe that
you have to have a bit of the explorer in
you to be a good landscape photographer,” he
says. “You have to want to climb that hill
to see what’s on the proverbial ‘other
side.’”
“Algonquin
Park, Elements of Nature” was Andrew’s first
sole show at the Silver Bridge Gallery.
