Cathy Groulx was born in London, Ontario. An artist from childhood, she went on to study commercial art, illustration and design. She works in a representational style in traditional oils. She will paint commissions from photo references.

She exhibits regularly in galleries, juried shows and various other venues, primarily in Ontario but she has had work in France, the USA and Denmark. She curated an exhibition of seven artists' work, including her own, which went to The Netherlands in 2009 to represent Canada.

She is a winner of several public choice awards and has been commissioned to do numerous paintings, one of which went to Taiwan as a gift from the County of Oxford.

She lectures and teaches and judges photography and art competitions.

She is a member of the Ontario Society of Artists, The Woodstock Art Gallery and their Art Gallery Advisory Board, The Ingersoll Creative Arts Centre – where she is past president, Norfolk Artsco and numerous other organizations.

An avid gardener, her work often includes some aspect of nature, and her love of colour and texture is very apparent in her work.
